The Drawdown Rule (Critical)

There are two types of drawdowns usually offered:

  • End-of-Day (EOD): The best option. Your drawdown is updated only at market close. You can’t fail due to an open trade swinging back and forth, as long as you close positively.
  • Intraday Trailing: Harder. If your open profit goes up by $500, your max loss level also goes up by $500 immediately.

Consistency Rule

To ensure you aren’t gambling, Alpha Futures may enforce a consistency rule for payouts:

  • The 30% Rule: No single trading day can account for more than 30% (or 40%) of your total requested payout. This forces you to be consistent over multiple days rather than getting lucky on one news spike.

  • Holding Overnight: Restricted. Most futures funded accounts require you to close all positions by 4:59 PM ET. Holding over the weekend is typically prohibited in futures prop firms.
